Happy Faces

Smiling

by Mallori on August 30, 2010

Smiling is a form of expression, and it can also be good for focusing  and reducing stress. When you smile, you have the ability to pay attention to things easier and focus on things more clearly. You don’t necessarily have to be happy, but smiling can help you concentrate and be more focused.  Smiling can naturally make you happier, thus smiling reduces the stress in your life.

Focusing can become difficult when you are faced with many tasks. But, smiling can help you conquer those tasks with more efficacy. Using laughter in everyday life can be the easiest, most natural way to smile. Watching a comedy genre film, enjoying an evening out with friends, or receving a Swedish Relaxation Massage at a day spa can help you smile. It could be that we only have these fun activites but once or twice a month due to our busy schedules, so make smiling a common practice but doing it every day. As you interact with others, actively listen and respond. This simple act of conversing can help you smile without intention. Another way to find a smile is by forcing the smile. Think “smile”, and your face will lighten up. This may feel odd at first, but it will help you to focus more clearly on your tasks at hand.

As we age, smiling seems to be rare, and it may be hard to find laughter in our stressful lives. Don’t let life stop you from smiling though. When you smile, it doesn’t have to be a genuine smile, but a forced smile will do the trick. When you smile it releases endorphins and neurotransmitters to the brain, which are health enhancing hormones. Laughter can help us release everyday stress and view our burdens as challenges that we can overcome. Sometimes, we just need to laugh to relieve the stress.

The next time you visit the best los angeles day spa with your friends, remember to laugh and let live, because this will help reduce your stress so that you can enjoy the benefits of a relaxing massage. Smiling and laughing will help your overall health, continue laughing to experience life to the fullest.
